Canada China Art Education Student Exchange

For three years twelve year old students from Canada went to China and students from China came to Canada for a ten day art camps. The partners involved in the exchange were Yang Mythos Art Education Company and Mr. Wong, and Yuan Ling Primary School in Shen Zhen, China and Ecole St. Avila with principal Gordon Campbell and artist Karen Cornelius and Winnipeg Art Gallery with Michael Boss.

Students lived with host families. Many art and cultural activities were planned in both Canada and China. At the end of each of the three year exchange art camp events an exhibition of student work was held at the Children’s Palace in Shen Zhen and at the Winnipeg Art Gallery in Winnipeg.

The Canadian students marveled at the tall buildings, efficient transit system and unusual food in China, while the Chinese students loved bacon, Canadian wildlife, nature, and our blue sky.
